In this article, you’ll learn what happens if a Traveller accidentally damages your awning and how compensation is determined based on its age.
If the Traveller accidentally breaks the awning, the compensation will depend on its age, as outlined in Article 6.20 of our Terms & Conditions:
- For the first 5 years, there’s no depreciation, so you’ll be reimbursed based on its full value.
- After 5 years, the value decreases by 10% per year.
- The awning will always retain a residual value of at least 30%.
- If a damage expert is involved, they may determine the daily value of the awning.
- If no expert is used, the 10% yearly depreciation applies automatically after the first 5 years.
To prevent damage, it’s always a good idea to give clear instructions to the Traveller on how to properly use and store the awning.
