At Goboony we collect the deposit from the hiring party in advance and it is returned only when all conditions of the hire are met. We guarantee the financial safety of Travellers and Advertisers. We protect the payments and offer Advertisers the opportunity to be compensated for damage that may have occurred during the trip.
The deposit is set by default at £1000. This is the amount of the deductible that the Traveller must pay in case of damage to the motorhome itself.
Do you have your own insurance for the rental of your motorhome?
Then you can set the amount of the deductible and the deposit yourself.
If the Traveller is planning on going somewhere with greater risk, for example, a festival or will be leaving the UK, it is important that your deposit reflects this. Most insurance companies require you to do this if your vehicle is going anywhere special, therefore it is important to check what your excess will be in these instances and set a deposit to match.
Can I also request a deposit outside of Goboony?
It is not permitted to request a deposit outside the platform. All payments outside the Goboony platform - including the Deposit - are a violation of our Terms & Conditions.
In some circumstances, we do allow the Advertiser to receive the deposit directly, if it is stated in the insurance policy. Please send an inquiry to our Support Team and please note that this must be clearly written in the advertisement.
