In this article, you’ll learn how cancellation fees for the Traveller depend on the booking stage, including the rules for both a booking request and a confirmed booking, and how Instant Booking cancellations work.
Cancellation fees for the Traveller depend on in which phase they are cancelling:
Booking has not been confirmed yet ⌄
If the Traveller hasn’t paid yet, the booking is still a “booking request.” They can cancel anytime without fees, and no hire earnings will be sent to you.
Booking is already confirmed ⌄
When the booking is confirmed, the cancellation rules you set for your vehicle apply. You can choose moderate or flexible cancellation policies when creating your advert. These rules (stated in the Terms and Conditions) decide how payments are handled, and they can’t be changed after the cancellation.
If the Traveller cancels, they are responsible for any fees, and the cancellation funds will be sent to you.
Bookings confirmed with Instant Booking: If a Traveller books using Instant Booking, cancellations within the first 24 hours are possible, and the Traveller gets an automatic refund.
