Motorhome owners who hire out through Goboony can choose to use our own insurance that covers peer-to-peer hire. You can see if the owner has Goboony Insurance by looking at the pricing section on the right-hand side of the listing page.
Goboony Insurance is comprehensive insurance that is paid for by the day and includes breakdown cover, damages and more. If a motorhome on Goboony has this insurance, it is automatically added to your booking when you make a booking request. You are then able to add additional drivers should you wish to do so.
Drivers must be aged between 25-74, have had a valid driving license for a minimum of 3 years and have no more than 6 points on their license to be eligible. We also recommend that you book in the name of the primary driver.
How is the cost of insurance calculated?
Several factors contribute to the cost of Goboony Insurance. The estimate seen when making a request is based on the average Goboony user. But in creating your request, the questions answered in the booking process will give a quote of your insurance costs, e.g. whether you'll stay within Europe and how long you've had your driving license. You can then see the exact cost of the insurance on the booking page. Please note that it can be higher or lower than the initial estimate.
What do you need to do for the insurance?
The insurance is automatically arranged when you confirm a booking. When making the booking request, please fill out the primary driver’s details accurately to ensure a smooth process. Details will include the primary driver's age, how many points they have and how long they’ve been driving with a full license (the date they passed their test).
Please note: If a foreign driving license was converted to a British one, only the date on which the driving test was passed for the UK license is taken into account.
All communication is done via Goboony and the contact details for the insurance and roadside assistance will be provided before the start date of the booking. You can ask the Advertiser and the Goboony Support team any additional questions you have regarding insurance.
If the Advertiser has an annual policy, such as Alan Boswell, the cost of insurance has already been included in their price. They'll require certain documents to ensure you can be covered by their insurance. You should inform the Advertiser whether or not you can provide these before confirming your booking.
Please note: Goboony also provides Excess Cover to lower the security deposit to £150. This is a separate policy and does not count as insurance for the actual hiring and driving of the vehicle.
