Yes, hire insurance is a requirement when your vehicle is hired out. A breakdown cover that covers the hirer is also required.
What are my options regarding insurance for renting out my vehicle?
If you're new to Goboony, you might be uncertain about how often you will be hiring out your motorhome. We understand that this makes you hesitant about diving into a comprehensive self-drive hire policy.
Goboony offers daily insurance that you can use to hire out your vehicle. The Goboony Day insurance is only paid for when your vehicle is actually being hired out. The costs are split between you and the hiring party. The insurance also comes with a Breakdown cover included as standard.
How can I start using Goboony insurance?
When you create your listing, simply opt into the Goboony-Riverside day insurance when asked. When someone books your vehicle, the policy automatically activates for the full duration of the booking.
What is the cost?
A fixed £15 per day will be deducted from your earnings as an advertiser. The hiring party then pays a variable rate depending on their driving history.
Is my motorhome eligible?
Your motorhome is eligible if it weighs up to 3500kg, is under 20 years old, and does not exceed a value of £65,000. The policy covers right-hand drive vehicles only. You will also need to have an existing policy for your own personal use of the vehicle because this policy only covers it whilst on hire.
My vehicle is 20 years or older, can I get insurance?
If you own an older vehicle, get in touch with our friends over at Just Kampers. They have two policies that can cover older vehicles and can either work as an annual policy or a pay-as-you-go option.
You could also consider Alan Boswell for an annual policy.
